Special Events at the Hidden Gallery Walk
The Hiddden Gallery Walk jump started the summer on Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22, 2014, featuring “pop-up” art galleries in unusual locations around the hamlet. including a scenic barn, former speakeasy, a former dancehall, local library, fire hall and others.
Gallery visitors walked to most locations and enjoy the hamlet’s waterfalls along the legendary Kaaterskill Creek. A shuttle was available during the gallery hours to help visitors get to the hidden galleries. The following special events were highlights of this year's Walk. TATTOO EXHIBITION OPENING RECEPTION FRI, June 21, 6:30-8:30 pm Clark House B&B Barn, 3292 Rt 23A, Palenville Event kick-off with live music and an early peek at the Exhibit featuring the tattoo art by Ed Dempsey of Woodstock. SWINGING BRIDGE EXHIBITION OPENING RECEPTION SAT, June 22, 4:00-6:00 pm Fernwood Restaurant, 341 Malden Ave, Palenville The beloved Swinging Bridge of Palenville has been the heart and inspiration to the hamlet before it was destroyed by Hurricane Irene. This exhibit displayed art inspired by the Bridge and historical postcards when the Swinging Bridge was the symbol of Palenville. PAINT OUT PARTY - open to the public Sun, June 22 Sale begins at 2:30 Mountain Melody, 3667 Rt 23A, Palenville Artwork created during the weekend by artists painting outdoors in picturesque Palenville sold to support the Hidden Gallery Walk.
