Palenville Cemetery History Event
Sat, July 16, 4pm-7pm

On July 16th, volunteers will gather in the late afternoon for the 2nd Annual Cemetery History Walk from 4pm-7pm. At 4 pm, we will present an introduction to the formation of the Cemetery and brief descriptions of our featured Palenville residents. Storytellers will be posted beside the graves of several former residents of Palenville. History comes alive as we hear about their lives in this famous boarding house community at the base of Kaaterskill Clove.

These two events are organized by the by Palenville The Hamlet, Inc. Restoration supplies and the preservation of a few chosen gravestones are made possible by a grant from The Bank of Greene County and through the efforts of the Palenville Cemetery Association Board and donors like YOU.

Headstone Cleaning Day at the Palenville Cemetery
 An enthusiastic group of volunteers gathered on July 9, from 9-11am learning how to clean and restore historic headstones. Eva Behr shared her knowledge and distributed the supplies to everyone interested in helping. It was an enjoyable morning of spraying, brushing and tending to all the names from Palenville's past.

Donations from now through July will go toward Palenville Cemetery Preservation. All tax-deductible donations.
