Bring Back Our BridgeEfforts are underway to rebuild the Swinging Bridge of Palenville.
Many families have fond memories of the Swinging Bridge and its vital role in the Palenville community. The People of Palenville built and maintained a path across Kaaterskill Creek for over 100 years. Four separate times, a bridge was built. The most recent Swinging Bridge lasted 82 years and was swept away during the 2011 floods from Hurricane Irene. Generations of residents and visitors have shared their stories and we have gathered these to be used in the efforts to reconstruct this important pathway and symbol of Palenville.
